Dave is still sick. He’s been sick since Monday. Some coughing. Says he aches all over. Can sleep all the time. Dizziness when first get up. Chills but no fever. Worse today than yesterday. Runny nose all the time like a bad cold.
Jed also had headache for 2 days around the same time, but then recovered.

Yesterday:
Dinner : sticky rice, parsnip patties, grated carrots
Decided to not go to Disney World again.
Puppy pooped twice, large loads, no miralax.
Weight: 124 pounds
Talked to Weilin

Morning:
Designed pop up tent for Puppy to stay in bed in the hotel.
Puppy poop small amount after breakfast
Barely slept 2 hours last night. Puppy woke up around 3 am crying for no reason. He’s sleeping in the tent, and the air mattress is squeaky when he moves.
Valentine’s day. Too sleepy to go to town and buy groceries. Out of milk.

Balanced checkbook. Got it right first try! Unfortunately, later found out that I printed some deposit checks in the previous year. So had to reprint 5 pages.

Dinner: beef vegetable soup, grilled cheese sandwich

Napped from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Then puppy woke me up to make him lunch. He said today that his name is Matthew, not Puppy. How sad. He pooped again after lunch, medium amount.

Monday, February 15, 2021

Wow, Austin is 9 degrees! We are 8 degrees. They are so frozen!

Bought a radio for Dave so that he doesn’t wake me up in the morning.
Dinner: Korean stewed beef

Dave said he’s worse this morning, almost fainting. His oxygen level is still at 97, but his friend Roger Rich said that oxygen level can drop during sleeping. So, I will test Dave’s oxygen level at midnight.

Baby hasn’t pooped today, and it‘s 6:50 p.m. And hasn’t been hungry all day, for some reason. Counted to 1000.

Dave isn’t feeling any better. This is the second day that he takes his vitamins for covid. He has 7 different pills to take, including vitamins A and E and C and D, Goldenseal plus Echinacea, thymus, and zinc. He hasn’t eaten all day and could barely eat dinner.

Dinner: potato salad, canned beans, grated carrots.

Dinner yesterday, made by Stanley: stroganoff, stir fried rice.

Puppy pooped twice today, lunch and night, without Miralax.

Jed did a good job shuffling snow today, from 2 to 5 p.m. It’s supposed to snow every day coming week.

Thursday, February 18, 2021

Dave woke up in the morning with a long coughing fit, but hasn’t coughed much the rest of the day. Says he’s no better. His oxygen level stays around 94 to 97, though this one right pinky finger says 90 or 84 once.

Dinner: chicken soup with napa cabbage and shittake mushrooms. Homemade French fries.

Puppy pooped only once today, and not that much.

Went to Super One today. It’s been 2 weeks or more since I last went. Had to buy all kinds of stuff. The roads were dry, but the parking lot is somewhat snow covered, so Stanley came and helped push the cart.

Realizing more and more today that I am getting too old and weak for going to Disney World, or any kind of traveling. It’s time that I do more “virtual traveling” and watch videos on youtube or something.

Dave no better. His oxygen around 93%.

I have a Maytag Gemini Series MER6872BAW, double oven. Received stove burner today. The inner circle of the dual burner stopped heating up. The new one from partselect.com doesn’t look exactly like the old one. It has markings on the metal prongs marked faintly as 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, that are in sometimes different positions as the old one‘s, which are similarly marked. I followed the instructions and turned off the breaker, took out 2 screws under from of the stove panel, then moved the top away slightly, and unplugged the wire connection in the back. I flipped it upside down, put it on a folding table to work on the old burner. I studied the wires/cords carefully, took pictures and put  stickers with numbers on the cords. The first time, I ignored the markings 1a, 1b, etc, and plugged in the cords in the same relative position as the old one. Didn’t work, burner made no response when turned on. So, took everything back out, and this time, I made sure that the cord that goes to the old 1a now goes to the new 1a, etc. Everything is fine except that one of the cords won’t reach. Luckily, partselect.com sent an extra extension cord, which is just the right length to extend the cord to the prong. I put the stove top back, plugged it in, and to my surprise, it worked! It turned on, and when I flipped the switch, only the small burner turned on! I couldn’t believe it! So I was happy until a couple of hours later, I realized that I forgot to take my numbered paper stickers out. So I had to take it apart again and get out all the stickers so that they don’t catch fire in there. Some people complain that the new burner is not compatible. But it actually is compatible in the sense that it can work, it’s just not identical and doesn’t install exactly the same way as the old, and you have to make it work. In the instruction video, the tech even showed how one might need to cut off part of the cord and put new ends to it and then crimp it tight to make it work. Luckily, I didn’t have to do that. I just had to plug 2 wires into different positions. I am a 50 year old, 5’4”, 120 pound weak woman and was able to do all this without male help, though my husband had to show me where the breaker is. I did need a pair of pliers to help pull the wire ends off the burner prongs and put back on tightly. I also used an electric screwdriver with proper bits, 2 small boxes for holding screws, some white stickers and pen, and a cell phone for taking pictures.

Dinner: Pizza Hut, 2 large pizzas, 2 boxes buffalo wings, mild and medium

Puppy pooped twice today, more the second time after pizza, no Miralax.

Puppy slept in the waffle block box he built, he insisted. He cried once at night but made it to 5 am, after which I made him go to bed.

Saturday, February 20, 2021

Dave’s no better. Had to lay down in the morning after getting up. He’s also constipated for a week. Tried Miralax yesterday but didn’t have much effect. Doesn’t want to try again today.

Puppy slept in the tent last night. Made it to 3 this morning, then cried and I had to carry him to bed.

Dave’s oxygen is around 93 to 96.

Puppy hasn’t pooped today, although he is on the toilet right now at 721pm after eating a big load of homemade French fries. This is the 4th day he doesn’t take Miralax. It’s an improvement. If he doesn’t poop enough, tomorrow he will take Miralax.

Dinner: Enchiladas with chicken, made by Stanley. (I made the tortillas, chicken from previous soup). Peas.

Jed had a coughing fit today around noon, then it stopped. He still coughs occasionally, like his throat itches. Might have a cold coming on.

Puppy counted to 1100 today. Don’t know if he missed any. He likes to push the M+ button on his ipad calculator and watch the numbers go up.

Don’t know if Dave has covid. Don’t know if the family is catching it.

Sunday, February 21, 2021

Jed coughed incessantly yesterday for several minutes. Today he said he has a sore throat. So I stuck him in the bathroom for steam treatment. His oxygen is 96, pulse 100, after 1 hour. The bathroom is heated to 92 degrees. Jed is wearing a thick shirt but doesn’t complain about being too hot. He sits in there and watches ipad. I am not starting Jed on the pills yet.

Dave said he feels about 50% better this morning. He continues to take his supplements. He took another dose of Miralax.

I took Miralax yesterday. So far I don’t feel much effects.

Puppy slept in the tent last night and made it to 10:30 this morning. He did cry once at night but I couldn’t wake up enough, and he did go back to sleep immediately afterwards.
